THE MERGE NEWSLETTER
Hey Mergers,
Hopefully the week is treating you well. We know it’s freezing out there, but it will only make us appreciate spring even more. Just hold on! In the meantime, we’ve got a few things to warm your spirits.
Our Small group information night will be this Friday at 7:30 at New Mt. Moriah. What are small groups you say? Glad you asked. A small group will be a collection of Mergers who are currently in similar walks of life. They will meet to fellowship with one another, grow in the Lord through studying the word and prayer, discuss pertinent issues facing them day to day and fostering a stronger connection to God through the Merge ministry. This will be a great opportunity for us to get to know one another on a personal level; to forge closer friendships and gain a deeper relationship with God in an environment outside the confines of the church. We are very excited for the launch of this endeavor this month and encourage you to join us Friday night.
A small correction from last week: We will be glow bowling at Century Bowl in Waterford next Friday, not 300 Bowl. If you missed last month’s event, you will definitely need to make sure you don’t miss out on the 18th. If there’s one thing we Mergers know how to do it’s have a good time together. You can bet that the competition will be fierce. There will be plenty of trash talking, but who will back it up? Only time will tell. Don’t sleep. There will be food, fun and fellowship. The church van will also be available for us so you can just meet us at the church and save some $$ on gas. Just reply to this e-mail and let us know if you’re coming so we can get an assessment of how many people will be attending.
Get ready; the Merge Upgrade conference is almost upon us!!! March 25th-27th. We kick it off on Friday with a concert. Saturday there will be break out sessions for the men and women. We’ll also have a general assembly where we’ll be able to pose questions to panelists on real issues facing us everyday. Then we top it all off with Merge Sunday!!! Now that’s a trifecta. We’re becoming a complete ministry, striving to improve our generation in all facets of life. Can you see all of the pieces coming together? This conference is sure to be a blessing to us all. More details to come on registration
Big things are coming! Don’t be on the outside looking in.

Merge Fridays
We had a great time at Joe D's during our last Merge Friday event. If you were not there you truly missed out. BUT don't cry to hard, we will be having our next Merge Friday event on Friday Feb. 18th at the Century Bowling located at 7345 Highland Road, Waterford, MI, 48327. We hope to see you there!

We are very excited for our kick off of our Small Groups. You might be asking yourself 'What is a small group.
That's simple, small groups are groups of five to ten people that are in similar places in their lives. They will meet to be personally encouraged and challenged in their relationship with God and each other. Each group will studies God's Word, discusses the issues and challenges that are relevant to their lives, prays for one another, and care for one another. This is a great opportunities to develop friendships as well as your relationship with God in a comfortable environment.

The Merge News Letter
¿Qué Paso Mergers?
Hopefully this week’s newsletter finds you in good spirits. Make sure you guys are exercising caution out there on the roads this week. With all the snow we’ve gotten it is very important to take your time, be aware of your surroundings and make sure you get to your destinations safely.
Last weekend was action packed. Midnight oil on Friday followed by Joe Dumars on Saturday. Midnight Oil was a powerful experience. The presence was definitely there and the prayers so poignant. Led by Pastor Jaughn with contributions from Merge Leaders Aaron Jackson and Alysha Robinson; we stood in the gap for our generation and warred in the spirit (no pun intended).
Some were skeptical about Joe Dumars after we were forced to cancel the Fire & Ice trip, but it didn’t take long before skepticism gave way to belief and great fun. Saturday we traveled to Shelby Twp to hang out at the Bayou Adventure Center. We started on the high ropes course. There was an abundance of trash talking and laughter from those watching on the sidelines. Oh but when it was their turn, how the shoe was on the other foot. Those swings turned out to be more difficult than expected. From there we proceeded to laser tag. We were split into two teams (blue and red) for two epic battles. There was some impressive navy seal-like play, a couple people that sadly fell victim to frequent hits, and even sadder still, some cheating *cough Demetrius, cough cough* The battles were fierce with the Red team winning the second. Unfortunately, the scores weren’t recorded for the first game leaving great speculation as to who actually emerged the victor (of course both teams claiming victory for the un-scored game). All in all, we had a blast. With each outing/ event we are getting closer and closer. We’re becoming a family and that’s precisely the strength of connection we need to do the level of ministry we aspire to do. So if you were unable to join us last weekend, don’t miss out this month when we head to 300 lanes in Waterford for a little glow bowling!
