THE MERGE
Merging Biblical Principles with Practical Applications to be Successful in Everyday Living

What’s up Mergers?!

Hopefully this email finds you winning.  We want to thank all of you that joined us for Upgrade weekend!  Our first annual Merge conference was phenomenal!  Special thanks go out to Sis. Lita Johnson who gave us a great presentation on budgeting and personal finance, and Pete Bahner of Prudential (one of our sponsors for the conference) who also gave a great presentation and sat on our panel,  Pamara Blount, Min. Boyd White III, Pastor Sonny Smith, Pastor Gracie McCoy, and Councilman/ Min. Kermit Williams.  The amount of information imparted to us by our prestigious panel was tremendous.  We didn’t want it to end.  It was truly an invaluable experience.  As always, we want your feedback.  We are always striving to get better and improve as a ministry so for those of you that were there this weekend, please visit our blog wearemerge.blogspot.com to complete a quick survey about Upgrade Weekend.

As we move forward, we are very excited about our small groups this month (April).  Stay tuned for more information.  Also, this month our third Friday event will be a little different.  Since the ladies will have the powerful women kick-off session on the third Friday, the guys will be having an exclusive Merge men’s night!  Now, now ladies don’t go getting all jealous.  The women of the Merge will also be getting together for a night out with just the girls following their powerful women kick off session.  Any suggestions on where to go or what to do?  We wanted to get your input for this month’s event.  So simply reply to this e-mail (girls and guys) and let us know what would interest you!  We all know that no matter where we go we will have a good time.  It’s all about the people you kick it with and we’ve got some great people!

Until next week Mergers, parting is such sweet sorrow.  Farewell…

God bless,
The Merge

Notes from Sunday –3/27/11

This Sunday we got double the word!  A powerful message from Bishop Murphy at 8:00am followed by an impassioned word from our own Pastor DeJaughn Murphy at 10:00am.  So we had to give you notes from both services because they both were a great blessing.

There are four key weapons (atomic bombs) that we must use; all are encompassed in us walking in light:

Testimony
Praise
Agreement
Seed sowing
Testimony

Jesus has already won the battle.  The devil knows that once you realize that he’s already a defeated foe, he can no longer do anything to you.  In the world you will have tribulation but Jesus says I have already conquered the world.  Since the devil has already been defeated, the only way he can win is by using a strategy of deception.   He wants you to believe something that’s not true.  And the only way you can be deceived is when you start operation in a worldly perspective.  The place of deception is the place of the world.  Believers cannot afford to operate in the world because it’s easy to be overcome in the world.  When you start operating in the WORD, God only has one perspective.  However, in the world, there are many perspectives.  As long as you stay in a heavenly perspective the devil cannot defeat you.  He no longer has access to that dimension because he’s been kicked out!  Once you get the revelation that the devil cannot beat you, salvation comes; strength comes because the devil can no longer just tell you anything.  The kingdom of God begins to be established in your life and the power of Christ.
There is a connection between the blood and our testimony.  “And they overcame by the blood of the lamb and the word of their testimony...” (Revelation 12:11)

Once you get the revelation your testimony changes.  Because whatever comes up in your life, you’ll be saying, “Already defeated.”  The devil wants to deceive you into believing that Christ’s blood really wasn’t for you; like the sins you have committed were too bad to be covered by the blood.  Your testimony represents the final blow to the enemy.  Between Christ’s blood and your testimony lies deception and accusation.  Even though you know your purpose and destiny, the devil will have you to believe that you’ll never make it.

To accuse is to charge with an offense or blame.  It’s the devil’s goal to put so much weight on you through accusation that you become too bogged down to progress into your purpose and destiny.  Your testimony is your finish.  No matter what your situation looks like, you have to testify what God has told you.

When your testimony lines up with God’s it breaks your ties to the lies of the enemy.
your testimony pushes you into the realm of the spirit where you become protected by the spirit of the true and living God

As long as you are lined up with the enemy, God cannot do anything with you.
Even though Christ has given his blood, many have not really received it.  The blood has broken the power of sin and death.  It they are broken then why do they still have place in your live?!?  Deception!
You have the blood and a testimony…Trust it!

Your testimony is the operation of your faith in practice.

Scriptures

Revelation 12:7-11
7 And war broke out in heaven: Michael and his angels fought with the dragon; and the dragon and his angels fought, 8 but they did not prevail, nor was a place found for them in heaven any longer. 9 So the great dragon was cast out, that serpent of old, called the Devil and Satan, who deceives the whole world; he was cast to the earth, and his angels were cast out with him.
10 Then I heard a loud voice saying in heaven, “Now salvation, and strength, and the kingdom of our God, and the power of His Christ have come, for the accuser of our brethren, who accused them before our God day and night, has been cast down. 11 And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony, and they did not love their lives to the death.

Summary by Anthony Jackson

This is the season of advancement and upgrade.  The requirement is that you have suffered a while.  If you have been going through you are qualified for an upgrade.  This is the season that we must begin to resist the devil with a new mentality and that is the mentality of agreement and unity.  We have to make sure that we are in placed and lined up with the vision because this thing is going to flow from the head and if we are out of place, we won’t be in position to receive our upgrade.  We’ll just be on the outside looking in.  There are some things that we simply cannot do alone.  We must begin to unify if we are to see the manifestation of God’s purpose for us personally and corporately.  We have been called to move together.  And as we begin to move in the mentality of agreement and unity we will become like the dew of Hermon, descending on the mountains of Zion; that resource that the world looks to when it’s in a dry place, the last vestige of hope for some and a symbol of pride for all.

Scriptures

Luke 17:12-14
12 Then as He entered a certain village, there met Him ten men who were lepers, who stood afar off. 13 And they lifted up their voices and said, “Jesus, Master, have mercy on us!”
14 So when He saw them, He said to them, “Go, show yourselves to the priests.” And so it was that as they went, they were cleansed.
Psalm 133:1-3
1 Behold, how good and how pleasant it is
For brethren to dwell together in unity!

2 It is like the precious oil upon the head,
         Running down on the beard,
         The beard of Aaron,
Running down on the edge of his garments.
3 It is like the dew of Hermon,
         Descending upon the mountains of Zion;
For there the LORD commanded the blessing—
         Life forevermore
